REVIEW: PENNINGTON'S BAKEWELL GIN LIQUEUR

THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HAVE A LOOK AT OUR SECOND REVIEW AND SECOND EVER BLOG POST!

Hello and welcome back :)

Hope you are keeping safe and well.

This time, I'll be reviewing...

Pennington's Bakewell (Raspberry & Almond) Gin Liqueur.

As you have more than likely guessed by now, I do have a slight preference to the more sweeter drink so when I came across this whilst online shopping, I just had to try it.

This is the second Bakewell Gin Liqueur I have bought; the first one was from B&M quite a while ago and I didn't rate it very highly. I found it quite sickly.

Pennington's have actually got the taste almost perfect with this one.

While it doesn't scream Mr. Kipling, I do think it makes a really nice afternoon tipple.

Yes, you have guessed correct: those aren't real ice cubes.

We've decided to try the re-usable ice cubes from B&M and so far, so good.

After 3 glasses, I started to feel a little full so it's not something I would drink over the course of an evening - maybe just one now and again as a treat (or as a pudding...)

If you like Gin and Bakewell; I would definitely recommend this.

On a side note: thanks to a recent "error" at the pub (before lockdown obviously), the manager created the most delicious and not too strong drink, which tasted really similar to a Bakewell!

(I'll save that for another time, though)

Pros: Not as sickly sweet as you'd think. Quite easy to drink initially.

Cons: Again, this was a little pricey (but totally worth it). Quite filling after 3 measures.

Price Range: On average around £22.00.

Best paired with: Lemonade or Pepsi.

Size: 50cl.

ABV: 20%.

OVERALL RATING:

Thanks for reading our second post/review, it really is much appreciated.

In all fairness, as well, it makes me feel a little better about drinking during these uncertain times - I feel like I have a purpose and that purpose is to buy expensive alcohol and review it to save my fellow connoisseurs from making a mistake (or not). Wink wink.

Thanks again,

Carrie :) x
